My Rights and My Duties.
About Convention on the Rights of the Child with Children.

OBJECTIVE:
The basic aim for our project My Rights and My Duties. About Convention on the Rights of the Child with Children is to promote and spread among the younger generation knowledge about their rights written in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The idea of the project is to raise the awareness and understanding of the children rights as well as their responsibilities towards the others Furthermore, the aim for the project is to develop the tolerant and dialog-based society which shares the values of respecting the children's rights , then consequently, the human rights. Polish authorities ratified the Convention in 1991, giving permission to the NGO involved with children rights to disseminate the information about the rights of the child based on Convention among children as well as adults.(art.42of Convention) Poland was also the country which had created the basic document on the rights of the child which was later elaborated into Convention on the Rights of the Child

Target group and the means of realization :
Project My Rights and My Duties. About Convention on the Rights of the Child with Children is designed for children between the age 9 to12. Its aim is to inform and teach about the chosen rights from Convention. At the same time the need for respect for the rights of the others will be also emphasized. The project is divided into three stages:
1. Workshops based on information input (information about convention and the chosen rights supported by set of flash-cards) as well as interactive output (discussion with children about their knowledge of their rights, writing and drawing activities)
2. Social publicity of the children rights in form of posters advertisement (billboards and citylights) distributed in the largest cities of Poland.
3. Creation and publishing of the book for children My Rights and My Duties. About Convention on the Rights of the Child with Children

Results expected:
Our aim is to raise the awareness on children's rights and responsibilities mainly among pupils but also adults through the workshops and the book on children's rights proposed directly for pupils, and the advertising company send to children as well as to adults. We focus on teaching children understanding and mutual respect for their rights in order to promote values of tolerance and democracy.

TARGETS:
Promoting and telling children about ideals of freedom, justice, equality, equity, and human dignity. Preparing children for their responsibilities in an interdependent world. It values cultural differences and affirms the pluralism that children, their communities, and teachers reflect. Multicultural education is a process that help children in their early age to develop a positive self-concept by providing knowledge about the cultures, and contributions of diverse groups. In the same way it help them to understand and tolerate diversity that surround them. Our target is to teach them about tolerance, respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. Tolerance understood as a harmony in difference. In modern world multicultural education especially children from the earliest age is the essencial element which help children to communicate and to live in our society. This workshops will become starting piont in peaceful co-existence. Our children taught to tolerate and accept, will take their first step in the future with any fears or prejudices. They will be ready to learn from others without giving up their own believes
